Home Care Assistant

Ann Mason Care are a family run domiciliary care agency and we are currently looking for full time enthusiastic Home Care Assistants to provide a high standard of care to our services users in such a way that helps continue their independence whilst also maintaining their respect and dignity.

For the role of Care Assistant, we need people who can travel to rural villages between Colchester and Ipswich. Typical daily travelling time can be 1.1/2 hours. Travelling time and mileage are both paid for

The Role

A day in the life of a Carer

I started working in care 8 years ago to say I wasn’t nervous was an understatement, over the years I have found that you do not know everything you do about your job and you definitely learn something new every day, over the years when working in care homes I struggled to work my way up the ladder. I then changed to home care as I could drive and I felt it would be a different way of life for myself and also the clients that I look after, I have been with Ann Mason Care for 2 years now and feel I have grown as a person and also as a valid staff member.

Live In Carer

The Role

We match carers to work placements that match your life style and our clients. Working on rotations that suite both yourself and our clients, normally working on a 2/3 weeks basis.

Our live in care supervisor visits each carer weekly to provide support and our local office coordinates replacement carers to provide cover for time off, double up visits, or night shift cover as required.

A day in the life of a Live in Carer

I started working with Ann Mason Care in 2016 as a Live in Carer. The job is very rewarding but it does have its challenges. As a person I like to concentrate on the positive. Below are a few of the many experiences I have gained and continue to gain as a Live in Carer.

–              The challenge of caring for multiple elderly people with dementia has encouraged me to find solutions to ever changing problems and has taught me to deal with difficult situations.

–              Serving home cooked meals, assisting with daily routine, personal care, shopping and visiting medical professionals has helped me to build a strong bond with my clients.

Ann Mason Care provides me with sufficient support and training. Which is another big bonus for my personal development. Overall, I have gained a number of different skills and it gives me great satisfaction and reward from my work.

Supervisor

The Role

Ann Mason Care have an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Supervisor. We are looking for a motivated individual who can give encouragement and support to our clients and staff. We are a small domiciliary company who have a progressive outlook. We provide a high standard of support and care to our customers to enable them to remain in their own homes and therefor maintaining their independence and providing them with respect, dignity and fulfilling their aspirations

As our Supervisor you will be office-based working within the small management team where you will report to our registered care manager.

Responsibilities

  • To carry out assessments and reviews to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Making sure all care plans are always delivered accurately and efficiently.
  • Regularly updating the care plans and risk assessments on access care planning
  • To implement field-based training and shadowing programmes to staff.
  • To ensure rigorous adherence to all Ann Mason Care Policies and Procedures
  • To use an evidence – based, person centred approach in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of agreed interventions following guidelines and protocols to promote customers abilities, cultural beliefs, and preferences.
  • Part of the on-call rota team.
  • When on call, in the event of an existing care worker being unable to do any visits, for whatever reason, assigning suitable alternative Care Workers for those care visits, until such time as the permanent care worker is able to return to work
  • To carry out On-Call responsibilities with the Co-ordinator
  • In extreme circumstances delivering care to customers who would otherwise not receive a visit
  • Completing staff supervisions and appraisals.
  • Schedule mandatory training
  • Assist with coordination, scheduling, training, and recruitment
  • To promote good personal time management skills in prioritising workload and working to deadlines

 

Experience required

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Health and social care
  • 5 years’ experience in domiciliary care.
  • Ambition for further career advancement
  • Valid driving licence and use of car
  • Availability to work a two-weekly rota of earlies and lates including every other weekend.

Senior care workers

The Role

We are looking for caring, compassionate people, who are organised and work on their own initiative. It is important that you have good communication skills in written and spoken English to join our home care team. International applicants will need to have completed the IELTS test.

Ideal Candidate

  • The successful Senior Care Worker will have achieved a QCF Levels 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Have a full UK or international driving licence and access to their own car
  • Team player and conscious contribution to the team.

Main duties of the Senior Care Assistant role are to:

  • Provide individual care for our service users.
  • Spot check and monitor of quality and assurance.
  • Administration of care records
  • Carry out initial risk and needs assessments in respect of individual service users.
  • Work in partnership with service users, their family, carers, advocates, healthcare professionals and others to ensure the seamless delivery of holistic packages of individual care support.
  • Carry out regular reviews of individual services and risk assessments.
  • Participate as required in multi-disciplinary review of service users’ needs.
  • Shadow new care workers in the field to ensure their competence.
  • Carry out the on-site observation and evaluation of care worker practice as part of routine supervision, in response to performance concerns, or as otherwise directed.
  • Provide ad hoc support and instruction to care workers in the field, including in an emergency.
  • Promote a safe working environment and safe systems of work.
  • Understand and follow hazard and accident reporting procedures.
  • Be alert to any changes in service users’ condition and circumstances and act appropriately when these changes.
  • Successful candidates will be required to work alternate weekends and will Share On-Call duties on a rota basis.

Rehab Care Assistant

Ann Mason Care have an exciting opportunity for a full and part-time dual role rehabilitation care assistant. We are looking for motivated individuals who can give encouragement and support to our clients with reablement care plans. Our assistant therapists will help provide a high standard of support and care to our services users in such a way that they help to regain their independence whilst also maintaining their respect and dignity.

For the two roles, we need people who can travel to rural villages between Colchester and Ipswich. Typical daily travelling time can be 1.1/2 hours. (based on full time hours) Travelling time and mileage are both paid for.

The Role

You will be working alongside health care professionals supported by qualified Nurses and Physiotherapists working to their designed plans. You need to be technology literate or motivated to learn as you will be supporting your clients with the aid of TEC (Technology enabled care). We are looking for caring, compassionate people, who are organised and work on their own initiative. It is important that you have good communication skills in written and spoken English to join our team.
